Huawei has kept a low profile in the Indian market this past year, deciding not to launch its previous flagship phone, the Huawei P8. Although sister brand Honor has been active in the market all this while, the only significant Huawei-branded device to launch in India recently was the Google Nexus 6P (Review). This has now changed, with the launch of the new Huawei P9.
Huawei P9 Summary
The Huawei P9 is the joint effort between Huawei and Leica as it boasts of a dual-lens camera setup for better low-light photography. The P9 features a 5.2-inch full-HD display with tapering edges all around. It's powered by Huawei's Kirin 955 octa-core SoC, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which can be expanded by up to 256GB. You get Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei's Emotion UI 4.1 running on top. The two 12-megapixel camera sensors mange to deliver excellent performance in daylight and low-light. We just wish we had OIS and 4K recording support too, to seal the deal. Battery life is pretty good too. If a good camera is important to you, the Huawei P9 is certainly worth considering.
