Best Mobile Phones Under 15000 In India

The under Rs.15,000 price point is crucial to the Indian smartphone industry since it is accessible to a lot of people. Over the years we have seen multiple manufacturers attempting to capture this segment by offering better cameras, faster processors, and better batteries. In order to be the best in this segment, manufacturers have flooded the sub-Rs. 15,000 price segment with a range of good smartphones.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 which was earlier exclusive to smartphones above Rs. 20,000 is now available under Rs. 15,000. You can also find mightier processors like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, and MediaTek Helio P70 at this price point, giving users powerful hardware at a bargain price.

Good camera technology has also trickled down to the sub Rs. 15,000 segment over the years giving people the option to capture good photos without paying a bomb for flagship devices. Some of the recent smartphones we have seen in this price point pack in as much as a 48-megapixel sensor. With so many options in the market, picking up a smartphone isn’t easy. But we’ve put together a list of the best phones under Rs. 15,000 for you. As usual, we've restricted ourselves to phones that have fared well in our review process.

The Realme X is a premium offering from Realme, which features an in-display fingerprint sensor and a pop-up selfie camera, under Rs. 20,000. It features a 6.53-inch, full-HD+ OLED display that produces good colours and has adequate brightness. The in-display fingerprint sensor also works very well and there's face unlock too, which we found to be equally fast.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC and is available in two variants -- one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and the top-end one has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone runs on ColorOS 6, which is based on Android 9 Pie. The large size of the phone makes it a little cumbersome to use but other than that, the build quality is great and performance is very good. Apps and games run smoothly too, without any heating issues.

The Realme X has a 48-megapixel primary camera that captures detailed landscapes and close-up shots and video recording can also go up to 4K resolution, which is good. The phone does a pretty good job in low light too and there's also Nightscape that helps bring out better details and colours. Battery life is also solid, as we found the phone lasting for a full day with regualr use. Fast charging is also present that helps top-up the battery quickly.

Display 6.53-inch, 1080x2340 pixels
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 710
RAM 4GB
Storage 128GB
Battery Capacity 3765mAh
Rear Camera 48MP + 5MP
Front Camera 16MP

The Redmi K20's aesthetics are appealing and it stands out in a sea of other phones with a glass slab design and gaudy gradients. The 6.39-inch AMOLED display is of excellent quality, and the in-display fingerprint sensor is also quick.

The triple rear cameras deliver impressive results, and except for the underwhelming low-light performance and some other minor issues, the overall output is a cut above what the competition offers. The phone's battery life is also great, with the 4,000mAh unit easily making it past a day and more.

The Snapdragon 730 SoC powering this phone ensures a lag-free usage in even the most demanding situations and delivers a smooth gaming experience. A refined MIUI with fewer ads and features like a dark mode, app drawer, and ambient display are an added bonus on the software side.

Xiaomi Redmi K20 Specifications

Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 730

Front Camera 20MP

The new OnePlus 6T introduces an in-display fingerprint sensor that is sure to draw attention and be the one feature that you really want to show off. It also has a smaller notch, bigger screen and higher capacity battery, but loses the notification LED and 3.5mm audio jack. Nearly everything else is the same as it was with the OnePlus 6. There's still no wireless charging or IP rating, which are the only ways in which this phone doesn't feel like a true flagship. Camera performance is pretty good, though it suffers at night. The battery will get you through a full day. The OnePlus 6T replaces the OnePlus 6 but isn't necessarily a compelling upgrade.

OnePlus 6T Specifications
Display 6.41-inch, 1080x2340 pixels
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
RAM 6GB
Storage 128GB
Battery Capacity 3700mAh
Rear Camera 16MP + 20MP
Front Camera 16MP

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 (6GB) is an extremely capable smartphone with stellar battery life, fluid software, a competent rear camera, and great performance. However, there are a few rough edges. The rear camera's autofocus is unreliable, and the front camera is not really an upgrade compared to the lower-end variants.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 (6GB) Specifications
Display 5.99-inch, 1080x2160 pixels
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 636
RAM 6GB
Storage 64GB
Battery Capacity 5000mAh

There's a lot to like about the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro, including its big screen, metal body, and 16-megapixel front and rear cameras, plus the generous amounts of RAM and storage you get. It's big but not too unwieldy, and it has a very polished software interface. Unfortunately it's still running Android 6.0.1 and lacks 4K video recording. Battery life is very good and camera quality is excellent. Performance falls behind that of the equivalently priced OnePlus 3T and Moto Z, and there's also the excellent Galaxy S7 to consider.

Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 653

Storage 64GB
Battery Capacity 4000mAh

The iQOO Z10x is a budget smartphone that uses a polycarbonate frame and rear panel but still manages to offer an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone offers a textured rear panel, which makes it appear attractive given its price tag.

Performance is not exactly a problem, given the capable processor. However, we did notice some stutters from time to time, which points to software optimisation issues. The phone is updated to the latest Android 15, but only supports 2 years of software updates.

Camera is not the iQOO Z10x’s biggest drawback. Daylight images are far from the best we have seen in this segment. Low light images are not usable. Video recording isn’t great either.

Despite packing a high capacity battery, charging speeds are pretty good. Standby time is also very good and the phone can easily last two days with light usage.

iQoo’s Z9x takes a practical approach to design by going with a plastic rear panel and frame. While it looks like a regular budget smartphone, it offers an IP64 rating which offers proper protection against dust but basic protection against water.

The phone offers good performance for a budget smartphone at this price point and is also good for some mid-level gaming as it can handle 3D games.

Camera performance is average for a smartphone at this price point but the iQoo Z9x has only one user-accessible rear-facing camera. Software performance is good but there’s plenty of spammy notifications and preinstalled third-party apps.

Battery life is very good. The phone easily lasts two days on a single charge with casual usage and more than a day with heavy usage as well. Charging speeds are impressive and the bundled charger quickly charges the large battery.

Display 6.72-inch, 1260x2800 pixels

The Moto G64 5G is a minor update over last year's Moto G54 5G. It comes with a slightly faster MediaTek Dimensity 7025 SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone is fast enough for most tasks and you can also play most games on it without any heating issues or lag. However, you'll need to run high-end games on lower settings. You get a dual rear camera setup with a main 50-megapixel sensor with OIS, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Photo quality is good in daylight conditions, but lowlight performance isn't that good. The phone also packs a 6,000mAh battery that can easily last two days with normal usage. A 33W fast charger is available in the box. The Moto G64 5G, while it doesn't offer major upgrades over its predecessor, is still good value for money and easy to recommend.

iQoo has launched the Z6 Lite 5G as its most affordable 5G smartphone in India. The iQoo Z6 Lite 5G sits at the bottom of the Z6 series. For its starting price of Rs 13,999, the iQoo Z6 Lite 5G aims at providing reliable performance and 5G network support.

While design preferences are subjective, the iQoo Z6 Lite 5G in its Stellar Green colour looks more premium than it is. The phone comes with a flat frame and a plastic body. It is 194g heavy and 8.3mm thick. The LCD display offers 120Hz refresh rate support, which is the highest in the price segment.

The highlight of the iQoo Z6 Lite 5G is its performance. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. The phone also packs a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. You do not get a charger in the box.

There is a dual-camera setup on the back. The phone features a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a 2MP depth sensor. The daylight shots are quite good but white balance is a hit or miss. For selfies, the iQoo Z6 Lite 5G comes with an 8MP front camera.

Software-wise, the iQoo Z6 Lite 5G runs on the Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 skin out of the box. It has its fair share of bloatware pre-installed along with some notifications from the browser app that spam a lot. The custom skin does offer options for customising and personalising the software experience.
