After endless leaks and teasers, the OnePlus 6 has finally been launched, and we can finally see what it really looks like, putting several rumours to rest. One of the most interesting things about this new model is that OnePlus has used glass on its rear for the first time. There are three distinct finishes plus one special edition, and rather than focusing on colours, OnePlus has developed unique textures for each of them. We at Gadgets 360 were some of the first people in the world to get our hands on all three of the standard options - Mirror Black, Midnight Black, and even the exclusive Silk White which will go on sale later. We can also now bring you your first look at the Marvel Avengers Limited Edition.

First we have Mirror Black, which is much like what we've seen before from the likes of Samsung and Sony. It's extremely glossy and reflective, and of course that means it smudges easily. This will likely be a popular option, and it will be sure to attract attention - that is, unless you use a case, which you might have to do.

The second option, also likely to be popular with those who want something just a little different, is called Midnight Black. This is a matte texture that OnePlus says it achieved by "corroding" the surface of the glass and using a 0.1mm layer with a jagged texture beneath it. When you hold this phone up to the light and move it around, you should be able to see a refractive pattern.

Update: OnePlus has now confirmed that the Midnight Black finish will only be available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at Rs. 39,999, which means that Mirror Black will be the only variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage in India, priced at Rs. 34,999.

Next, we come to Silk White. People will choose this one if they really want to stand out. OnePlus says that it used actual peal dust to achieve a soft-touch feel for the glass. This finish will only be available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which means that the base price will be higher than that of the other two models.

The Silk White finish is complemented by a rose gold metal frame and accents around the camera bump and fingerprint sensor.

The OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition will be available only with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, at a premium price. It has a unique carbon fibre texture inspired by the company's previous phone cases, plus it comes with a few surprise goodies in the box.

OnePlus says that it has used Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back of the OnePlus 6. The Midnight Black and Silk White options might not look like glass at first, thanks to their matte textures. The fit and finish of all four variants is very good.

Another key element of the OnePlus 6 design is its notched screen. This gives it an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio. Fans will appreciate the fact that OnePlus did not drop the notifications LED when reclaiming space for the "ears" of the screen.

All four are identical except for the choices you have when it comes to RAM and storage. There's a dual-Nano-SIM tray and a volume rocker on the left.

The trademark OnePlus alert slider has been moved to the right, just above the power button.

OnePlus claims that its dual rear cameras will deliver much better photos and videos. There's now optical image stabilisation for the primary camera, plus improved low-light performance thanks to a physically larger sensor.
