Acer Liquid Z6, Liquid Z6 Plus Smartphones; Iconia Talk S Tablet Launched at IFA

Acer took centre stage at IFA 2016 to unveil a bunch of new products. Apart from the new range of laptops, the new curved Predator monitors, the new pet accessory line, and the new Chromebook R13, Acer has also unveiled two new smartphones and a tablet. The Liquid Z6 and the Liquid Z6 Plus smartphones are scheduled to arrive in November and December respectively, while the Iconia Talk S tablet is expected to hit the market next month.

All the devices will be made available in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region only for now. The Liquid Z6 is priced at EUR 119 (roughly Rs. 8,900), the Liquid Z6 Plus is priced at EUR 250 (roughly Rs. 18,600), and the Iconia Talk S tablet is priced at EUR 169 (roughly Rs. 12,600).

Beginning with the smartphones, the Acer Liquid Z6 is an entry-level smartphone featuring a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It offers 8GB of inbuilt storage, with the option to expand further via a microSD slot. Optics include a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. It measures 145.5x72.5x8.5mm, packs a 2000mAh battery, runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and supports 4G LTE.

The Acer Liquid Z6 Plus is the larger and more premium variant of the two. It features a 5.5-inch (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor with Mali T720 GPU and 3GB of DDR3 RAM. It offers 32GB of inbuilt storage with the option to expand further via a microSD slot (up to 128GB). Optics include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, has an integrated fingerprint scanner under the home button, packs a 4080mAh battery, and supports 4G LTE. The Liquid Z6 Plus measures 153.6x75.4x8.5mm, and weighs 168 grams.

As mentioned, Acer also launched the new budget voice-calling tablet, the Iconia Talk S, at IFA. The tablet wears a Black and Gold design and features a 7-inch HD (800x1280 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8735 quad-core processor with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB RAM. The Iconia Talk S offers 32GB of internal storage with the option to expand further via a microSD slot (up to 128GB). Optics include a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. It packs a 3400mAh battery, has a built-in mono speaker, supports 4G LTE, and also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The tablet measures 191.7x101x9.35mm, and weighs 260 grams.
