Asus recently launched the PadFone in India, that packs in a tablet, smartphone and a netbook together as one. Now online reports hint at the existence of the PadFone 2.The company is already sending invites for the launch of the PadFone 2 at simultaneous events scheduled in Milan and Taipei.

Details regarding the specifications of the PadFone 2 are still sketchy and but considering that the PadFone features a Snapdragon S4 processor, there's a possibility that the next PadFone has an upgraded version, the S4 Pro. But that's just wishful thinking until we get to see the real thing.

In a leaked AnTuTu benchmark, the PadFone 2 is seen sporting a quad-core 1512MHz processor and 2GB RAM, which is an upgrade over its predecessor equipped with a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and 1GB RAM.

As far as the operating system is concerned, it is expected to feature Android 4.0, which will be disappointing to see since most devices are already shipping with Jelly Bean, including the Google Nexus 7 tablet manufactured by Asus itself.

The Asus PadFone carries a Rs. 64,999 price tag and it may not see many people reaching for their wallets. but we're hoping that this might be addressed in the next iteration. Pricing details for the PadFone 2 are also unofficial yet.

There's an an optional Bluetooth stylus headset doubles up as a headset and a stylus - users can use it to draw and write, and when a call comes in while the PadFone is docked, users can pick up the call with ease using the stylus.
