After reports about iPhone 6 users complaining of displays being very prone to scratches, and also misaligned front-facing cameras, some users have now complained about OIS (optical image stabilisation) on their iPhone 6 Plus, and NFC (near field communication) issues on both the new iPhone devices.

First reported by 9to5mac, some users found the cause for the issues are metallic cases or magnetic lenses. The report adds, "The cause of the issue has been noticed by a small number of users online."

Interestingly, Apple on its support page for camera acknowledges the OIS issue on the iPhone 6 Plus phablet and writes, "With iPhone 6 Plus, a metallic case or magnetic lens could interfere with optical image stabilisation. If you have a metallic case or magnetic lens attachment, try taking a picture without it. Then compare the quality."

The report citing sources familiar with Apple's MFi licensing program claims that Apple has started informing accessory makers under its MFi program to avoid use of metal or magnets causing iPhone 6 Plus OIS issues.

Further, 9to5mac suggests that use of magnetic material can also cause NFC performance issues on both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The report notes, "Apple previously had a warning for accessory makers about magnets or metal to avoid interference with the iPhone's compass, a much less used feature than the camera or NFC features affected on the new phones."

A YouTube video named 'Weird iPhone 6 Camera Glitch' shows the iPhone 6 Plus camera OIS issue.
