After the new circular QuickWindow mode on the LG G3 was leaked in screenshots, LG has made the QuickCircle cases for G3 official, with the company issuing a statement that the new folder-style cases for LG G3 will be launched alongside the smartphone.

The South Korean handset maker seems to be prepping the market for the launch of G3, and we wonder if the company has other revelations to make ahead of the smarpthone's launch on May 27 in three cities - London, New York, San Francisco - followed by a May 28 launch in Singapore, Istanbul, and Seoul. LG has so far also confirmed the G3 will feature a 5.5-inch QHD AH-IPS LCD 534ppi display. We can probably assume the name for the new circular QuickWindow mode used on the LG G3 is called QuickCircle.

It's worth noting that LG, in a similar manner announced the QuickWindow cases for G2 (Review | Pictures) ahead of its global launch last year. The LG QuickCircle cases for G3 will be available in five colour variants namely - Aqua Mint, Indian Pink, Metallic Black, Silk White, and Shine Gold.

The QuickCircle cases for the LG G3 also equip wireless charging compatibility with the Qi interface standard. The South Korean major has also announced that a software development kit (SDK) will be released next month to allow developers to customize the LG G3 smartphones to perform specific functions with the QuickCircle Case. The LG QuickCircle case also sports Smart Lighting around the window, emitting a soft, white, circular glow inside the window whenever the G3 case is opened/ closed or a call/ text message is received.

Commenting on the rollout of QuickCircle Case for LG G3, Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, "The smartphone ecosystem is constantly evolving no longer are cases just for protection from the elements and bumps and drops. They're the perfect accessory to build in extra features that add more value to a mobile device. With QuickCircle Case, we've exceeded the baseline by making it customizable to better fit users' needs."

Based on earlier reports, the LG G3 is said to come with a 13-megapixel rear camera with the new Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS+); rear mounted speaker offering 1W output, and a 3000mAh battery capacity. The smartphone is also rumoured to come with a Snapdragon 805 processor.
