Nokia X6 Gets a Polar White Colour Variant, Ability to Hide Apps

Nokia X6 was launched in China back in May 2018, initially in Dark Blue and Starry Black colour variants. However, the range has now been refreshed with a new Polar White colour option. The variant will be available on JD.com starting Tuesday, July 10 at a price tag of CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,600) for the lone 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. The Polar White colour variant is not available in any of the other configurations - 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. The company has maintained the same price as the 6GB RAM/ 64GB model in Dark Blue and Starry Black colours. Adding to that, the Nokia X6 has also received a software update that adds a new function allowing users to hide certain apps.

As per a post on Nokia's official Weibo post, the mid-range smartphone is getting a new software update that brings the ability to hide certain apps from the desktop of the handset. A new private app will be added containing all the hidden apps, possibly protected by a passcode or biometric security.

Nokia X6 specifications

The dual-SIM (Nano) Nokia X6 runs Android 8.1 Oreo, and sports a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with an Adreno 509 GPU, 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Storage is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).

In the camera department, the Nokia X6 bears a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, both with an f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor. The selfie camera gets a 16-megapixel sensor with support for Face Unlock capabilities. There is a 3060mAh battery coupled with an 18W bundled charger.

Connectivity on the Nokia X6 comprises of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. Sensors on the handset include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, fingerprint sensor, and proximity sensor.
