Oppo F5, the latest selfie-focused smartphone from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, will be launched in India on Thursday at an event in Mumbai. The launch will be live streamed, and can be seen below, apart from the company's India site, its social media channels, and YouTube page. We already know everything about the smartphone, thanks to its Philippines launch late last month. Launched in the Philippines at PHP 15,990, we can expected the Oppo F5 price in India to be around the same - roughly Rs. 20,000. This price is for the smartphone's 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage variant, with the also-announced 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant still without a price tag.

As for the Oppo F5 specifications and features, the selfie-focused smartphone is being touted to feature AI-powered beautification technology for its front camera. The company says, "With more than 200 positioning spots, the F5 accentuates your facial landmarks and contours to enhance the symmetry between features like your eyes, nose, cheekbones and jawline to create the perfectly refined and natural selfie. Its beauty-iris tool ensures that your eyes will shine brighter in any photo."

The front camera is claimed to recognise if there's a background light or can add luminance to portraits for improved selfies. The front camera is also capable of clicking shots with a Bokeh effect. The Oppo F5's front camera sports a 20-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. At the back is a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash.

Other Oppo F5 specifications include a 6-inch TFT display with full-HD+ screen resolution of 1080x2160 pixels. The handset supports dual Nano-SIM cards and packs a separate microSD card slot. The Oppo F5 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek (MT6763T) processor coupled with 4GB/ 6GB RAM. It supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 256GB). The handset runs on the company's ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It measures 156.5x76x7.5mm and weighs in at 152 grams. It is backed by a 3200mAh battery. Connectivity options include GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and USB OTG support.
