Samsung has almost made its upcoming Galaxy Alpha smartphone official by previewing it at a yachting event in Russia. In the meanwhile, an image displaying the anticipated smartphone's purported specifications also popped-up online.

The much awaited metal-clad handset by Samsung , the Galaxy Alpha, was highlighting various banners during a yachting event in Moscow over the weekend. The three images, leaked by hi-tech.mail (via GSMArena), failed to show the handset's specifications, though one of the attendees was caught on camera carrying a Black colour variant at the event.

The image featuring the purported specifications of the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy Alpha was leaked by Tecmundo, and lists a 4.7-inch (720x1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display; a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with "super-fast autofocus" and LED flash; a 2.1MP front-facing camera; 32GB of built-in storage; a fingerprint sensor; 4G LTE, USB3.0 and Bluetooth 4.0.

The specifications mentioned in the image are in-line with what previous reports had indicated last week. To recall, the upcoming Galaxy Alpha was up for pre-order for a brief period of time via an online retail website, revealing some key specifications.

The fingerprint sensor, which debuted on the Galaxy S5, is also seen as one of the listed features in the image. Interestingly, the image shows the Galaxy Alpha to be backed by a low 1850mAh battery.

In addition, the image confirmed the inclusion of an octa-core processor, said to be Samsung's home brewed Exynos 5 chipset. The same processor was seen with the Galaxy Alpha earlier this month under AnTuTu test results.

An anonymous source also detailed pricing of the Galaxy Alpha to Tecmundo, at BRL 2,399 (roughly Rs. 64,100). A 64GB built-in storage was also said to be in the works.

Notably, the Korean smartphone maker is yet to take the wraps off its handset officially. Previous reports indicate the Galaxy Alpha to arrive on August 13 this year.
