Ahead of Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event last week, several rumours pointed to the existence of a dual-SIM model of the Galaxy Note 5, one that will include a microSD card slot. The model however was never announced at the event.

Now, giving some credence to the existence of a dual-SIM model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a report that claims the variant of the newly-launched handset is up for retail pre-orders in the Philippines. If true, we can expect Samsung to announce the availability of the dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy Note 5 in other markets soon. To recall, Samsung last week at its launch event had clarified that its Galaxy Note 5 will be available only in select markets. So far, there is no word on the pricing of the Galaxy Note 5 Dual SIM.

The dual-SIM model of the Galaxy Note 5 has also been spotted in flurry of images coming from Taiwan (via eprice). While the images purportedly confirm that the Galaxy Note 5 will be offered in a dual-SIM variant, they also show there will be no microSD card slot in the variant.

One of the pre-launch leaks had claimed that the Galaxy Note 5's dual-SIM model will be offered with a microSD card slot. The rest of the specifications of the Galaxy Note 5 are said to be same as the single-SIM Galaxy Note 5.

Recently Samsung confirmed that it has no plans to offer the 128GB variants of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ "at this time." After last week's launch event, the 128GB storage variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ were listed on the company's US site. Samsung clarified that the US listings were incorrect, and that the company has now updated the listings with the right information. The move to not launch the 128GB variants may be possibly due to low demand of the highest-priced variants.

Both the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be made available from August 21. The new Galaxy Note phablet pricing starts at $739.99 (roughly Rs. 48,400) for the 32GB variant (off contract), and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ starts at $814.99 (roughly Rs. 53,300).
