Soon after the unannounced 128GB storage variants of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ were spotted on Samsung's official site, the company has come out to clarify that it has no plans to offer the large storage variants "at this time," and that the listings were a mistake.

After Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event, the company listed the 128GB inbuilt storage variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ on the US site, and the page even had claimed that the models would be available across all four major US carriers - AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Samsung however told The Verge that the US listings were incorrect, and that the company has now updated the listings with the right information.

The South Korean company went on to suggest that it had no plans to launch the larger storage variants of both the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ as of now. The move to not launch the 128GB variants may be possibly due to low demand of the highest-priced variants. Unfortunately, the company has not shared any plans of whether it intends to bring the 128GB variants to market. The news will not sit well with power users, who were already disappointed with the lack of a microSD card and the presence of a non-removable battery.

To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were launched in three storage variants - 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB; though due to purported low demand of the large storage variant, the company pulled the 128GB from some markets including India.

Samsung last week at its Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event alongside the new products also launched several accessories for both the handsets including Clear View Cover, wireless charger, Level headphones, Battery packs, and the new Keyboard Covers. The all new BlackBerry-like Keyboard Cover was announced to be available next month and was priced at $80 (approximately Rs. 5,200).

Both the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be made available from August 21. The new Galaxy Note phablet pricing starts at $739.99 (roughly Rs. 48,400) for the 32GB variant (off contract), and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ starts at $814.99 (roughly Rs. 53,300).
