The Samsung India website has now listed a new Android phone dubbed as the Galaxy Y Plus GT-S5303. No pricing or availability details are known. The specs, however, point towards an entry-level phone.

Measuring in at 104.9 x 57.9 x 12.98mm and weighing 96 grams, the Galaxy Y Plus sports a 2.8 inch TFT QVGA (240x320 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.0. it also comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera.

The device is powered by a 850MHz processor and has 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for upto 32GB expansion. It comes with a 1,200mAh battery, USB 2.0 and Micro-USB ports. Connectivity wise, the device has Wi-Fi, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, A-GPS and Glonass.

Amidst all the hype surrounding its high-end devices and mid-range to some extent, Samsung seemed to have lost focus on its low end segment, where it used to launch devices more aggressively. But this could be slowly turning around.

Samsung currently has budget offerings mostly in the Galaxy series. Some of these include Galaxy Pocket (Review I Pictures) launched in April 2012, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Music Duos and Galaxy Y Pro Duos (Review I Pictures) amongst many others. Mid-range devices from the company include devices like the recently announced Galaxy Fame and Galaxy Young.

The Galaxy Pocket is likely to get a successor in the form of the Pocket Plus. The full specs of the device emerged earlier in January this year, which showed that it is identical to the Galaxy Pocket except for the processor that seems to have been updated to a 850MHz Broadcom.  A more recent report indicated the existence of the Pocket Neo that could witness a May 2013 launch.

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo will have a 3.0-inch screen with QVGA resolution. The expected dimensions of this smartphone are 104.95 X 57.8 X11.8mm. Other alleged specifications for the smartphone include 2-megapixel rear camera, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS. The device is likely to available in two variants, a single SIM version, which will bear the model number GT-S5310 and the DUOS variant, under the model number GT-S5312.
