After a sighting at a deal site, Sony has officially launched Xperia ion in the country today. Featuring Android 4.0, the smartphone has been priced at Rs. 36,999 and is now available at major retail stores.

Sony Xperia ion was originally announced at CES this year, but was US exclusive at that time. Company has since decided to release it in other markets such as India as well. It sports 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.6-inch 720p display and a 12.1MP rear camera.
