MariSilicon X Imaging NPU technology was first introduced by OPPO in its annual tech event the OPPO INNO Day. Through the use of this technology, the OPPO Reno8 Pro will get massive benefits of computation photography to deliver 4K Ultra HDR quality videos at night thereby greatly enhancing the phone's night camera experience.
The NPU is built on a cutting-edge 6nm chip architecture that packs 3.6 billion transistors capable of performing up to 18 trillion operations per second. MariSilicon X Imaging NPU's image processing speed along with real-time lossless AI processing will help photographers and videographers tackle the pain points of night-time shooting with each frame to deliver stunning and bright night videos on the Reno8 Pro.
The Reno8 Series will also deliver on its promise of brilliant Portrait photography and videography. With advanced in-house developed AI algorithms that render accurate Indian skin tone detection one can create even better Bokeh Flare Portrait Videos for the ultimate professional camera experience than before. The AI has been further enhanced to help the camera system distinguish between skin blemishes and beauty spots as well as the age and sex of the subject. The camera system can intelligently apply different levels of beautification for these flawless portrait effects on the upcoming Reno8 Series.
The Reno8 Series continues to leverage RGBW sensor technology with the Flagship Sony IMX709 selfie sensor and IMX766 sensor for the rear camera. The IMX709 captures 60% more light and increases the purity by 20.2% when compared with regular RGGB sensors. This means more light and better color tones for your selfie portraits. By leveraging a combination of these technologies, the Reno8 Series will significantly improve your smartphone camera experience during the night.
A device designed with unmatched aesthetics
OPPO has always pushed the envelope when it comes to designing its smartphones. Every Reno device has only gotten better when it comes to its craftsmanship. The Reno8 Series is also going to set a new horizon of design greatness. The Reno8 Pro will adopt the Golden Ratio from Sacred Geometry as its design philosophy. The Golden Ratio (1:.618), renders mathematical proportions that when employed instantly make the device more pleasing to the eye. It takes the Reno8 Pro into the league of beautifully designed architecture like the Great Pyramids and Taj Mahal, which have used the Golden Ratio, making the device a piece of art.
At 7.34mm the Reno8 Pro is also going to be the slimmest Reno yet. Both devices in the series set to offer a streamlined unibody design with the entire back panel being made from a single piece of glass that is heat-forged and pressure molded to form the soft curves required for the camera module.
Taking the same design philosophy to the camera module the series will showcase a prominent binocular camera set-up that resembles the two reels of a film camera. When looked at carefully the camera setup will look like the infinity symbol—as well as the number ‘8 which stands for the camera prowess of the Reno8 Series.

The Power of MediaTek ‘s advanced Dimensity chipset
The Reno8 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX integrated 5G SoC which is MediaTek ‘s first Dimensity chip using a 5nm process. Compared with the previous generation Dimensity 1200-MAX, increases CPU performance by 12% and improves energy efficiency by up to 50% , and is capable of delivering all-round smooth performance on the Reno8 Pro. The Reno8 on the other hand will get the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 5G-integrated SoC boosting the AI capabilities and gaming performance of the handset.
The Reno8 Series will also benefit from the industry-leading 80W SUPERVOOCTM which is capable of charging a 4500 mAh battery to 50% in just 11-minutes. The Reno8 Series also comes with OPPO's exclusive Battery Health Engine (BHE) technology that prolongs your battery's health. Both devices get OPPO's Five-layer charging protection that ensures the entire charging cycle, right from the adapter to the cable, and the battery is protected during any charging cycle.
The Reno8 Pro is going to see additional performance benefits with the use of the Ultra-Conductive Cooling System features a series of new advanced cooling materials that use Ultra-Conductive Graphite which is an aircraft-grade, high molecular material to resolve any unnecessary heating issues. The Reno8, on the other hand, gets OPPO's Super-Conductive VC Liquid Cooling System that increases the cooling area by 16.8% for better control of heat dissipation. Both devices have received the TÜV SÜD 36-Month Fluency Rating a Mark that promises ultimate smoothness in performance.
