OnePlus made waves last year by launching its first tablet, the ‘Pad'. The OnePlus Pad was a mid-range tablet complete with keyboard and stylus accessories, and it offered immense value at its Rs. 37,999 starting price. This year, OnePlus introduced its successor, the ‘Pad 2'. It is available at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB +128GB variant and Rs. 42,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. OnePlus has not held back on performance this time, so the Pad 2 brings a top-of-the-line processor that seems to offer excellent value for money on paper. But does it all work well with its bundled accessories? And does the bigger display make it a laptop replacement? Read on to find out.
OnePlus Pad 2 Summary
OnePlus’s Pad 2 offers a large display in its own taller aspect ratio which the brand claims is ideal for both work and play. The display has thin borders and has a premium feeling all-metal unibody chassis which has a unique looking rounded design with rounded sides and corners.
The software experience keeps up with the times. OnePlus adds a bunch of AI tools to its Oxygen OS skin which has been optimised for tablets in this case. Open Canvas makes it from the OnePlus Open to this tablet and it works wonderfully.
The Smart Keyboard optional accessory is well built and now consists of two parts. The keyboard is spacious and comfortable for typing and so is the trackpad. But the trackpad does have some minor issues.
Battery life is pretty good and easily lasts two work days. With the bundled charger it can also charge as fast as a smartphone.
