Does Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 point to the beginning of the end of single-player campaigns in AAA gaming? Games editor Rishi Alwani and friend of the podcast Mikhail Madnani join host Pranay Parab to discuss. We begin the episode by discussing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 reveal and our thoughts on what we saw. Here we talk about the gameplay, the various modes of the game that were discussed, and the ‘boots on ground’ approach that Treyarch has promised. We discuss the way this game's multiplayer mode will pan out on various platforms and what Activision has picked up from other games. We discuss the similarities between Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer and that in other games such as Fortnite, PUBG, Overwatch, and many others.

Then we talk about the fact that there is no single-player campaign in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. We speak about how Treyarch justified this decision and whether the explanation makes any sense. We then look at whether Call of Duty needs single-player and wonder why Activision is pushing a multiplayer game. Then we look at games such as Titanfall 2 and Doom, and how the multiplayer components in these games panned out. We look at what multiplayer did for these games and whether that influenced Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. We then talk about where people can go for good single-player games, and whether Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 should charge full price for a multiplayer-only game.

In the final part of the podcast, we discuss the different editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and whether you want to get the season pass. We talk about whether it makes sense to get a physical copy of the game on various platforms. We also discuss our theories on what the battle royale mode might look like. Then we talk about the game's Battle.net exclusivity and why PC gamers in India might be disappointed with that. Next up, the discussion moves to Battlefield V and how it could take on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Lastly, we talk about the games we’ve been playing this week. This includes Mass Effect: AndromedaOverwatchDark Souls RemasteredStardew Valley, and Detroit: Become Human.
