On this episode of Orbital, reviews editor Jamshed Avari and games editor Rishi Alwani join host Pranay Parab to talk about iPhone slowdows. A new report emerged recently claiming that Apple is indeed slowing down older iPhones with worn out batteries. This turned into a big controversy for one of the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturers.

Turns out that some of those with conspiracy theories about Apple slowing down older iPhones were not that far off the mark even if Apple wasn't doing it with any kind of nefarious intent. While the goal was to provide a smoother experience on iOSthe way this was discovered left a lot of unanswered questions. Apple should've handled the problem in a different way, as Jamshed and Rishi argue on the podcast.

We then talk about the iPhones affected by the slowdowns and its impact on the resale value of iPhones. We talk about the heart of the problem and why Apple might have taken the decision it did. Jamshed’s opinion piece on what he wants from laptops gets a mention in this part of the podcast as we draw a parallel with the smartphone industry. Finally, we answer the one question that keeps coming up in Gadgets 360's offices - should you spend more than Rs. 50,000 on a phone?
