Orbital's year-ender episode is here, where we look back at the best smartphones and feature phones released in 2017. Phone enthusiasts Roydon Cerejo, Aditya Shenoy, and Rishi Alwani join host Pranay Parab. We begin by discussing some of the top smartphone and feature phone trends of 2017. We talk about the whole move towards removing bezels from smartphones and how every notable smartphone manufacturer tried to make a phone with an all-screen display. This trend is particularly obvious in the higher end of smartphones but that doesn't mean budget phones were ignored, even if the execution may not have been as good.

Then we talk about the smart 4G feature phone trend, where phones that traditionally didn't even have 3G started shipping with a much faster way to access the Internet. Here we mention why this category is very relevant for India and whether it will keep the pace in 2018. We wrap up this section by talking about the honourable mentions in terms of the phones that launched in 2017 but weren't good enough to be in our top 10.

Finally, we discuss the top 10 smartphones of 2017 in no particular order. Here we start by talking about the budget segment and the smartphones that were launched in that. The list starts with some super affordable picks and slowly moves towards more expensive ones. That means that all the flagship smartphones of 2017 are discussed towards the end of this episode of Orbital. We wrap up the episode by picking our favourite phones from 2017, a section where Pranay cheats a little while the others choose their favourites.
