Samsung’s Galaxy A series is positioned as the next best thing to the flagship Galaxy S series. The idea here is to provide an almost top-level experience, which encompasses the feel of the device, features, and of course performance, but at a price that more people can stomach. So far, the company has done a good job of maintaining this balance, and now, it’s time to take the 2017 editions of the Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A5 for a spin.
Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) Summary
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is built using aluminium and glass which makes it feel very premium. However, given its 5.7-inch display size, the phone feels bulky and heavy. It doesn’t have the best ergonomics either. The Super Amoled display produces good colours and brightness although we weren’t to pleased with the tone of the whites. The fingerprint sensor works well and buttons have good feedback. The Exynos 7880 provides decent power for the UI and most apps although heavy games don’t always run smoothly. The 16-megapixel rear sensor has slow focus and lacks good detail in landscapes and macros. It lacks 4K video recording too. Battery life is good as we managed to go beyond a day of regular use.

One of the best phones under 30kGauri (Sep 12, 2017) on AmazonIf you need a phone with premium build, waterproof body, good camera and really long battery life then this is the phone for you. Camera is good but cannot take 60fps or 2k/4k videos. Max is 1080p 30fps but the quality is one of the best 1080p you can get. Even underwater videos look very good. The processor is good for normal browsing and watching videos but don't expect gaming performance like the s7. The ui is fast and snappy after the android 7 update. Battery life is longer then even the note series phones. It has a dedicated microsd slot so you can put 2sims and micro sd simultaneously. Samsung pay works flawlessly. 3 main differences from flagship s7 is midrange processor, no 4k recording in camera and no wireless charging.Is this review helpful?
