It looks like Nokia has been internally working on a Windows RT tablet, which now stands cancelled. Interestingly, pictures of the alleged tablet have also appeared on the Internet.

Purported pictures of what appears to be a 10-inch tablet running Windows RT have appeared online on Naver Cafe forum, a Korean online forum, and were spotted first by The Verge which also mentions that the tablet has been cancelled citing sources familiar with the development. The report even adds that Nokia will introduce a Windows 8 tablet, instead.

The pictures of the alleged tablet feature a magnetic connector similar to the one we've seen in Microsoft's Surface tablets and on Apple MacBooks. The person who posted the pictures claims he got the tablet as a gift from someone working at Nokia and that it has a model number 'Nvidia P1001,' perhaps indicating the type of the processor powering the tablet.

The Nokia tablet is allegedly powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. The forum posts also mention that it features HDMI and USB ports, in addition to a SIM card slot placed close to the headphone jack and that the tablet offers support for LTE connectivity. Nokia has not commented on the matter.

In June, another news report had suggested that US carrier AT&T was also testing a tablet device which could be launched as soon as July. Prior to that, purported images of what possibly could be a Nokia-branded Windows tablet surfaced at an event in Pakistan.

It was earlier being speculated that the 10-inch Windows RT tablet from Nokia was likely to debut at the MWC next year, and that it might come with an additional detachable keyboard just like Microsoft's Surface tablet.

The report had mentioned that the company plans to launch a special cover for the tablet with an integrated battery that can power the tablet. This battery equipped cover will have two additional USB ports and feature a kickstand as well.
