Nvidia has finally pulled the curtains back to reveal the long-awaited Tegra Note tablet. However, the newly revealed Tegra Note is not a new consumer tablet, but instead a reference design tablet for Nvidia's partners to adopt and brand as their own. Nvidia notes that the Tegra Note will be released in India via Xolo.

The Nvidia Tegra Note comes with a 7-inch HD IPS LCD (1280x800) display and is powered by the Tegra 4 processor with a 72-core GeForce GPU and quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU. The Tegra Note will run Android OS and will likely come with over-the-air software updates directly from Nvidia. There is a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It includes 16GB of inbuilt storage with microSD support and is expandable up to an additional 32GB. The tablet features front-facing HD Audio stereo speakers with bass-reflex port. It can deliver up to 10 hours of HD video playback, claims Nvidia.

Other features on the Tegra Note include Nvidia DirectStylus technology for the bundled stylus, Nvidia PureAudio technology, SmugMug Camera app, one of the camera apps on iOS comes to Android and Nvidia TegraZone that provides access to Tegra-optimized games.

Commenting on the launch, Matt Wuebbling, director of Tegra product marketing noted in a blog post, "It elevates the abilities of our partners, so they can provide tablets packed with innovation and features at prices they may not have been able to deliver on their own. In turn, Nvidia gains access to their deep sales and distribution expertise in regions worldwide."

The Tegra Note starts at a suggested retail price of $199, and will be rolled out in few months via partners. The company has also revealed some countries where the Tegra Note will be rolled out which include North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
