Highlights
  • Reliance Jio is extending special plan benefits to Samsung customers
  • Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ buyers eligible for new Jio offer
  • Jio will offer 448GB of 4G data over 8 months as part of the offer

Samsung's newest flagships, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ launched in India on Wednesday and pre-orders for the two smartphones have begun. The phones are set to be available in the market from May 5 and Reliance Jio and Samsung have joined hands to provide a special offer to Jio users who buy either smartphone, providing them double the benefits.

As part of this offer, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ buyers on Reliance Jio network will get 448GB of 4G data over 8 months on a monthly recharge of Rs. 309; this amounts to 2GB data per day. Effectively, the Jio Double Data offer on purchase of the new Samsung smartphones doubles what the telco introduced during the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. You need to be a Jio Prime member to avail this offer.

Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer

To recall, under the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, Prime members can enjoy Jio services at Rs. 309 or Rs. 509 for three months. While the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer only gives 1GB data per day for three months (84 days), the offer with purchase of Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ doubles that to 2GB per day. What's more, this Double Data benefit will be available for the next 8 recharge cycles. The Rs. 509 Jio plan, which offers 2GB of 4G data per day, is not part of the Samsung offer as of now.

The offer starts from May 5 when the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ go on sale. As mentioned earlier, the Double Data offer will only be available for Jio users who have enrolled for Prime membership.
