Sony on Monday launched its new Extra Bass Portable Wireless Speaker - the SRS-XB3 - at Rs. 12,990 (MRP) in India. The speaker is available to purchase in Black, Blue, and Red colour variants from Sony Centres and other leading electronic stores.

As the name suggests, the SRS-XB3 speaker is rated to deliver "deep, punchy bass sound" and also house the company's own DSP (digital signal processor). The 48mm full-range driver that powers the speaker is said to sport an embedded magnet and feature long stroke, said to provide deep, rich bass.

As per Sony, the SRS-XB3 features dual passive radiators to augment bass ranges. In addition, the native LDAC audio coding technology helps to deliver enhanced audio experience wirelessly. The technology helps the wireless speaker to transmit three times the data volume as compared to the existing technologies and is said to be the first in the world to deliver audio quality in the Hi-Res class using Bluetooth Audio.
