Google's Glass eyewear, right after going on sale for all the US customers again, continues to stay under spotlight for the launch of new travel-related Glassware (apps meant for the Glass eyewear), and also for its rumoured successor - Google Glass 2.

The newly-launched travel-related Glassware for Google Glass for now brings only a few more applications, including Tripit, Foursquare, OpenTable, Field Trip, Word Lens, Google Now, Search and Maps.

"Some of the most exciting experiences that our Explorers have shared with us are from their travels with Glass. Glass has become a favorite travel companion because it helps you enjoy your vacation without getting lost in your technology, and now we have new Glassware that will continue to help you discover and explore with ease," states the official Google Glass Google+ post.

The last major update Google rolled out for its Glass included SMS notifications support to iPhone, and a new and improved Calendar Glassware. The Mountain View giant also said it will be increasing the frequency of updates now that it has upgraded Glass firmware to Android 4.4 KitKat.

While Google Glass gets updated, we have started to hear some rumours about the next-generation of Google Glass.

The report by Laoyaoba.com (via G for Games) indicates Google is already working on the second generation of Glass eyewear, and samples are currently under R&D testing.

It has been further noted that Google has certified Crystal Optech's Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) display technology for the upcoming eyewear. The same technology by the same optoelectronic component manufacturer is said to have been used on the existing Google Glass. The search engine giant is said to have been certified the LCOS display via a number of middlemen in order to avoid the media to find out soon about the development.

Unfortunately, no other information regarding specifications, price or its availability is known for the next-generation of Google Glass, and we cannot say what Google might finally put on the table for its Glass fans. However, we do not expect the Google Glass 2 to arrive any time soon as the existing Google Glass is not fully out yet and is said to be made available by the end of this year.
