  • There are no plans for an Android or iPhone release

Civilization VI is now available on the App Store. The 2016 PC strategy game is playable on the iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, or any iPad Pro running iOS 11. Civilization VI iOS price is Rs. 2,300 in India and $29.99 in the US.

This however, will be bumped up to Rs. 4,600 in India and $60 in the US after 11:59pm PST on January 4 (1:29pm IST on January 5). Civilization VI iPad download size is around 3.1GB. Long-time Civilization collaborator, Aspyr who has brought past games in the series to macOS and iOS is handling porting duties.

If you’re worried about how it would perform on your iPad, worry not. The first 60 turns of Civilization VI are free to play. And minus some visual and presentation differences, Civilization VI on the iPad lacks the online multiplayer of its PC counterpart (it’s restricted to LAN only) and there’s no cross-platform multiplayer either. You’re not getting the complete PC experience or commitment of support with additional DLC either.

“We hope to support DLC and expansions in the future but cannot confirm timing or availability at this time,” the game’s FAQ reads.

And if you were expecting the same age-spanning conquest on the iPhone or Android devices, think again.

“As of today, Civilization VI is only available on iPad. However, we are continuing to evaluate opportunities to eventually bring Civilization VI to other platforms.

Furthermore, don’t expect your iPad battery to last more than three hours on a single charge Aspyr notes. Not too bad considering that’s around the same amount of time it takes to drain the Nintendo Switch while playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
