The rear camera setup has phase detection autofocus. It has a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 12-megapixel sensor with a 1.22-micron aperture. The front camera also features autofocus.

Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and in-display fingerprint sensor. The Asus ZenFone 8 supports face unlock.
