Last year at Gamescom, Microsoft announced that the next entry in the Tomb Raider series, Rise of the Tomb Raider, would be exclusive to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Barely a year to the day, Square Enix, the publisher of the game has announced that Lara Croft's latest adventure will hit other current platforms next year - specifically Sony's PS4, Steam, and Windows 10 PC.

"Square Enix today announced its latest title in the critically acclaimed and award-winning Tomb Raider series, Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be available for Steam and Windows 10 PC in early 2016. The game will be a console exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 for one year after its initial launch, coming to PlayStation 4 Holiday 2016," a post on the official Tomb Raider blog read on Thursday.

"Renowned developer Crystal Dynamics, a Square Enix studio, is leading development in the latest entry in the iconic series for additional platforms," the blog added.

Indian gamers though will have to pay Rs. 4,699 to play the game on Xbox One if current prices on Amazon India - Microsoft's exclusive retail partner in the country - are to be believed. The series has done exceptionally well in the country and with no Uncharted 4 to compete with, we won't be surprised if it manages to lift the sales of the Xbox One.
