Tech Deals of the Week: MacBook Air 2014 at Rs. 51,000 Is Our Top Pick

The long weekend is almost here and there are plenty of special deals going around. Here are our top picks.

1. Independence Day specials

Almost every major online retailer in the country is running Independence Day promotions across a number of categories. These deals are likely to spill over to the extended weekend. Amazon is offering discounts of around 40% or more. Look out for their Lightning Deals on external hard drives, Apple iPad Air, iPhone 5s, and iPad mini with Retina Display this weekend.

You might just be able to grab one at a really special price, but remember these are limited-time deals with limited stocks. Amazon has also extended its offer on Kindle e-readers. You can get them at a flat discount of ₹1,000 till 17 August.

Other retailers like Flipkart and Snapdeal are also running Independence Day promotions on a number of electronics items. Flipkart is offering discounts of up to 40% on select wireless speakers, while Snapdeal is running a promotion where you can pair products like digital cameras with select accessories for free. If you use SBI credit and debit cards, you can get an extra 10% off on transactions above ₹10,000, perfect for buying phones, laptops, or digital cameras.

Flipkart is selling the Fufifilm FinePix X100 mirrorless camera at a special price of Rs. 41,900. It comes with a free SanDisk SDHC 8GB memory card, along with another 4GB card, and some interesting combo offers with accessories. The camera has a 12.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, and features a 2.8-inch LCD display. The FinePix X100 is capable of recording video in high definition. 5. Deals on laptops at Flipkart

Flipkart has a number of interesting offers on laptops. On select laptops, you can get an extra Rs. 2,500 off and 10% cashback too. The cashback is valid only for State Bank of India credit and debit card users.

If you have an old laptop you don't use anymore, you can exchange it for a new one. Flipkart is offering a minimum exchange value of Rs. 5,000, depending on which laptop you're offering to exchange. The discount is instant, you'll need to mention details of your existing laptop to get the discount. The exchange is made by the delivery person when your new laptop is delivered.
