Dell has launched the Vostro 15 3000 series laptops in India, claiming to target heavy business users. The new laptop series has a starting price of Rs. 30,090, and has been launched with model Dell Vostro 3546.
The Vostro 3546 in the Vostro 15 3000 series comes with four processor options - Intel Celeron 2957U (2 cores, 2 threads, 1.4GHz, 2MB cache), and 4th Generation Intel Core i3-4005U (2 cores, 4 threads, 1.7GHz, 3MB cache), Core i3-4030U (2 cores, 4 threads, 1.9GHz, 3MB cache), and Core i5-4210U (2 cores, 4 threads, 1.7GHz up to 2.7GHz, 3MB cache).
While the Intel Celeron 2957U processor variant (priced at Rs. 30,090 as the base model) features an Intel HD Graphics processor, the other Intel Core i3 and Core i5 variants feature the Intel HD Graphics 4400 processor. An option for Nvidia 820M with 2GB of DDR3L RAM is also available.
The Vostro 3546 features a 15.6-inch widescreen LED anti-glare display with 1366x768 pixels resolution. It comes with a choice of Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit, Windows 8.1 Pro China 64-Bit, Windows 8.1 64-Bit, Windows 8.1, and Linux Ubuntu operating systems.
The Dell Vostro 3546 comes with 4GB of DDR3L RAM, and can be configured up to 8GB according to the company. As per the official site listing however, 4GB is the maximum. Users can choose between a 500GB or 1TB 5400RPM SATA HDD.
The Dell Vostro 15 3000 series' Vostro 3546 features a 1-megapixel HD webcam and integrated stereo speakers with Wave MaxxAudio software. The wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0. A Miracast wireless display support by is also available in a Windows 8.1-configuration. The Vostro 3546 measures 25.6x381.4x267.5mm, and weighs 2.38kgs.
