HP has launched a new premium notebook, the HP Envy 17 Leap Motion SE, which is the first in the world to integrate a motion controller from Leap Motion, which allows users to control apps and interact with the laptop using hand and finger movements. It will cost approximately Rs. 1,14,000.

Leap Motion is a hardware-based peripheral that captures hand, wrist and finger motion in 3D space and converts that information into signals that can be interpreted by a PC and used to control input. Leap Motion offers a variety of gesture-enabled games, creative tools and educational apps through its own store. HP is the first company to integrate this technology into its notebooks and desktop PCs.

The CPU is a quad-core Intel Core i7-4702MQ running at 2.2GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz), 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GT750M graphics processor with 4GB of video RAM.

The Envy 17 Leap Motion SE comes with a 1TB hard drive, Beats Audio enhancement, and four speakers plus an integrated subwoofer. The operating system is Windows 8.1, the latest version of Windows. HP's website does not offer configuration options but a number of accessories such as earphones, speakers, keyboards and mice can be purchased along with the notebook itself.
