Last week, WD launched a slew of products internationally, including new consumer SSDs under the WD Green and WD Blue lines, as well as the redesigned My Book and My Passport external hard drives. At an event in New Delhi on Wednesday, WD India announced the launch of the new My Book and My Passport drives in the country starting at a price of Rs. 13,050 and Rs. 7,980 respectively. The hard drives are available starting Wednesday with all leading WD partners and online.

Both the My Passport and My Book hard drives feature a smooth, glossy top, textured lower halves and sharp edges. WD collaborated with fuseproject, an external design and branding firm founded by the legendary Yves Behar, on the design for the lineup.

The My Passport drive is offered in five colour options: blue, orange, white, red, and black. The eighth generation drives offers both cloud storage and 256-AES hardware encryption. Storage capacities start from 1TB going up to 4TB. A USB 3.0 cable in the same colour is included in each box, and buyers get a two-year warranty.

Prices for the 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB WD My Passport drives are Rs. 7,980, Rs. 11,910, and Rs. 17,140 respectively.

Meanwhile, the My Book hard drive is offered in capacities starting from 3TB up to 8TB. The drive is equipped with WD Backup software for Windows and is Apple Time Machine-compatible as well. It also offers password protection with 256-AES encryption.The drive is USB 3.0 compatible and a cable is included in each box alongside a two-year warranty. Unlike the My Passport, the My Book comes only in Black.

Prices in India for WD My Book are Rs. 13,050, Rs. 16,470, Rs. 26,600, and Rs. 29,500 for the 3TB, 4TB, 6TB, and 8TB models respectively.

The new consumer SSDs, on the other hand, will not be seen in the country as of now.
