Champion Computers, in partnership with BSNL, has launched a new phablet, the BSNL-Champion Trendy 531 for Rs. 13,999. The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean-based BSNL-Champion Trendy 531 comes with a free BSNL 3G data plan of 500MB per month for a year.

BSNL-Champion Trendy 531 features a 5.3-inch display with unspecified resolution and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor alongside 1GB of RAM. It is a dual-SIM device with support for GSM+GSM.

It sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The BSNL-Champion Trendy 531 comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, with expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card. There is a 3200mAh battery backing the device, however the company has not detailed the talktime and standby time. Connectivity options on the phablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and 3G.

Commenting on the launch of the phablet, Kapil Wadhwa, MD, Champion Computers Pvt. Ltd. said, "Our collaboration with BSNL celebrates the launch of the BSNL-Trendy 531 phablet in India, the market for which is at an inflection point. With people becoming familiar with technology and its applications, we promise our customers an excellent user experience with the latest technology at a great price."

Champion Computers has been associated with tablets earlier, as the company launched a tablet dubbed Wtab 7.2, which was based on Ice Cream Sandwich for Rs. 4,899.
