Gionee seems all set to expand its budget Pioneer smartphone series with the introduction of the Pioneer P4. The smartphone is now available at an e-commerce website for Rs. 9,500 and is also listed on the company's official site without price or availability details.

The Pioneer P4 is the successor to the Pioneer P3, which was launched in December last year.

The Pioneer P4 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. It offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support, and features a 4.5-inch TFT display with FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution.

A quad-core MediaTek (MT6582V) processor powers the smartphone, clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Pioneer P4 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.

The Pioneer P4 comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, AGPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G connectivity options.

Gionee's Pioneer P4 is backed by an 1800mAh battery, which according to the official site can deliver up to 16 hours of talk time and 386 hours of standby time on 2G network.

The official Gionee site notes that the Pioneer P4 will be available in Black and White colour variants. It measures 135x66.5x9.05mm and weighs 88.2 grams.

Earlier, Gionee's Elife E7 Mini was available in India at Rs. 19,500. The Gionee Elife E7 Mini runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the company's custom Amigo 2.0 UI layer on top, much like the elder sibling the Gionee Elife E7. The Gionee Elife E7 Mini supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality.
