There have been several rumours regarding a Facebook smartphone being in the works. Although the social networking company has so far denied working on anything concrete, it has not stopped the gossip mongers from speculating that an Android-powered smartphone is in the works.

As per a report by Android Guys, there is indeed a Facebook phone in the works. This smartphone will be dubbed as HTC Myst and will be white coloured smartphone. The website also claims that this smartphone will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8930 S4 Plus dual-core processor that clocks at 1GHz and features a Adreno 305 GPU. It reportedly has a 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone is expected to run Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and feature regular connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Android Guys has also mentioned that HTC Myst will have a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. It is also being touted that this smartphone will come with 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.6-megapixel front camera. It is likely this smartphone will come with a dedicated Facebook button. So far there is news on when this smartphone will be available in the market and at what price, or what kind of special Facebook integration it will offer, asides from the dedicated Facebook button.

It is noteworthy, that HTC had earlier launched a Facebook smartphone - HTC ChaCha. It was an Android smartphone with 2.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen along with a QWERTY keyboard. However, this smartphone failed to make any impact. This really makes us wonder what new is HTC planning to with its HTC Myst. Moreover, in a world where Facebook is tightly integrated with current set of Android and iOS devices why would one want to buy a Facebook branded HTC smartphone anyways, unless it offers something truly unique?
