We've been hearing about the HTC One's cheaper 'mini' version since last month when alleged press photos of the device appeared online, but now the actual device has been captured in pictures.

The phone looks very similar to HTC's premium flagship, the HTC One and even has the same width, however, it's shorter than the One. The pictures of the phone that appeared on Estonian website show the HTC One mini side by side with its bigger sibling and reveal that it would be a little thinner than the One.

According to the site the phone will launch in August and carry a price tag of 400 Euros. The report reiterates that the phone will feature a 4.3-inch screen with 720p resolution and pixel density of 342ppi. It will be powered by a dual-core Snapdragon chipset and have 2GB of RAM. The HTC mini is likely to have 16GB of internal storage, as per the site, and it will run Android 4.2.2, the latest iteration of the operating system.

Just a few day days back, a news report had indicated that HTC is expected to launch the HTC mini codenamed the M4 around mid-July. It had also mentioned the same specifications adding that the phone will sport an Ultrapixel camera. The other rumoured specifications for the HTC One mini include 1,700mAh battery, Beats Audio and LTE connectivity.

The first press pictures of the device appeared online in May, complete with specifications.
It will be interesting to see HTC follow Samsung's footsteps and introduce mid-range variants of flagships. Samsung recently announced the Galaxy S4 mini smartphone, a compact version of Samsung's flagship smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM. It packs in 8GB of internal storage of which 5GB is user accessible. The internal storage can be further expanded by up to 64GB with the help of a microSD card.
