Huawei G610 and Ascend G700 quad-core Android 4.2 phablets unveiled

Huawei unveiled two new Android-based phablets, the G610 and Ascend G700 in an event in Taiwan.

The Huawei G610 features a 5-inch IPS qHD (540x960 pixel) display and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of ROM, though no word on inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card. The Huawei G610 runs Android 4.2 with company's Emotion UI on top.

The mid-range Huawei G610 sports a 5-megapxiel rear camera alongside an LED flash and also includes a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It also includes sensors like G-sensor, light sensor and digital proximity. The G610 comes in two colours - Black and White. It packs a 2150mAh battery and has dimensions of 142x73.6x9.9mm. The Huawei G610 is a dual-SIM handset with GSM+GSM support.

The Huawei Ascend G700 on the other hand comes with 5-inch IPS display with a 720x1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and has 2GB of RAM. It supports expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card, though there is no word on the inbuilt storage.

Also a dual-SIM handset (GSM+GSM), the Huawei Ascend G700 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Huawei's Emotion UI on top. It supports an 8-megapixel rear camera accompanied by an LED flash and also houses a 1.3-megapixel front camera. It is powered by a 2150mAh battery.

The latest Huawei devices were first reported by Unwired View and are now available for pre-order at Amazon.com. The Huawei Ascend G700 comes at a price point of $282.99 (Rs. 17,900 approximately) while the Huawei G610 comes at $249.99 (Rs. 15,824 approximately).

Recently, the Chinese giant launched the Honor 3 which is water and dust resistant with IP55 or IP57 certification and sports a 13-megapixel rear camera.
