Huawei rumoured to showcase Ascend P2 mini at MWC

Huawei is expected to launch Ascend P2 mini at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013. As per news report on Chinese website MyDrivers, Ascend P2 mini will sport a 4.0-inch display with a 720p resolution, 1GB of RAM and a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. The site further mentions that the mini version of Ascend P2 will run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and will be debuting with regular Ascend P2 at MWC. Currently, there are no details available in regard to the processor or battery on Ascend P2 mini.

A few days back, the press shot of Huawei Ascend P2 had leaked online. This smartphone is being touted as the company's next full-HD flagship. Going by the rumours, Huawei Ascend P2 will feature 4.7-inch display with a 1080p resolution, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. It is alleged that this smartphone will be powered by a quad-core 1.8GHz processor and have a 2200 mAh battery. This device too is expected to run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is being touted that post the launch Ascend P2 will be available in host of back cover colour options.

MyDrivers also claims that Ascend P2 will be cheaper the recently launched Ascend D2 smartphones. However, one will have to wait till MWC to find out if that is really the case.

Huawei had recently launched Ascend Mate, Ascend D2 and Ascend W1 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013. Huawei Ascend Mate is 6.1-inch Android smartphone that recently got listed on a Chinese website for $525. For now there are no further information regarding the pricing or availability of the other two smartphones, which makes us deduce that it may take a while before Ascend P2 mini and Ascend P2 hit the shelves.
