Highlights
  • The Lenovo Phab 2 packs a 4050mAh battery
  • It features a huge 6.4-inch display
  • It will be sold exclusively on Flipkart

The Lenovo Phab 2 and Lenovo Phab 2 Plus were launched at the company's Tech World Event back in June this year. The Phab 2 Plus arrived in India in November, and now looks like the Phab 2 is making its way into the market as well. Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has listed the smartphone on its site, and has announced that it is arriving soon.

There's no word on exact availability or pricing, but we should see it launch exclusively on Flipkart before the arrival of 2017. The Lenovo Phab 2 is not that different from the Phab 2 Plus, except for a few downgrades in the display resolution and camera department, and also the lack of a fingerprint sensor at the front or the back. The Phab 2 Plus was launched in India for Rs. 14,999, and we expect the Phab 2 to be priced even more reasonably.

To recap, the Lenovo Phab 2 was launched for $199 (roughly Rs. 13,500) in June. It features a 6.4-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8735 SoC quad-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. It offers 32GB of inbuilty storage with the option to expand further via microSD card (up to 128GB).

The Phab 2 bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and PDAF. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an 85-degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports a hybrid dual-SIM slot (Micro + Micro). The dimensions measure at 175x88.5x9.6mm, and the smartphone weighs 225 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS support. It packs a massive 4050mAh battery, and was launched in Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey colour options.
