Micromax Canvas Duet 2 purportedly leaked with support for GSM+CDMA networks

Micromax is rumoured to be launching a new smartphone, said to be dubbed Canvas Duet 2, with GSM+CDMA network support.

The alleged Canvas Duet 2 has been spotted in a purported leaked image of the retail box, though the smartphone itself has not been spotted.

The rumoured Canvas Duet 2 is said to be Micromax's second smartphone to come with CDMA network support after the Canvas Blaze that supports GSM+CDMA (MTS) networks.

The alleged image of the retail box has been posted by Micromax Canvas blog and it claims that the rumoured Canvas Duet smartphone will support any CDMA network.

The blog tips some specifications of the Canvas Duet 2 which include a 5.27-inch HD IPS display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor (unspecified chipset), 1GB of RAM, 4GB of inbuilt storage, 8-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2300mAh battery. The alleged Canvas Duet is said to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

The blog also speculates that the domestic handset maker might price the alleged Canvas Duet 2 at around Rs. 17,000.

Micromax, in partnership with telecom service provider MTS, had launched the Canvas Blaze in India at Rs. 10,990 back in December last year. The Micromax Canvas Blaze comes with bundled offers from MTS which included 2GB of free data, 1000 free minutes for MTS to MTS local calling, and 120 free minutes for other local and STD calls, all of which are applicable per month for six months. The Micromax Canvas Blaze supports dual-SIM functionality with GSM+CDMA support.

On Monday, another Micromax smartphone was purportedly leaked, dubbed Canvas Power. The highlight of the alleged Canvas Power is said to be the 4000mAh battery, which is said to deliver a talk time up to 13.5 hours and up to 400 hours of standby time, according to the leaked image.
