Micromax has started selling the Canvas Knight A350, its octa-core processor handset, with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. While Micromax has not announced an update, it seems probable that the domestic Indian manufacturer will also issue the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Canvas Knight phones already in the market.

The news comes from Micromax's official Google+ and Facebook posts, which boldly state, "With the Integrated Voice Search feature of Android Kitkat OS in Canvas Knight, you can search the web just by saying 'Okay Google'!"

Further confirming the news, the Micromax Canvas Knight's page on the company's website also mentions "Android KitKat 4.4.2 - Forget scrolling through call logs and contact lists to find your priority numbers. On the Canvas Knight, you have a smarter contact list that prioritizes numbers based on who you call the most! Tap on the Google bar and launch voice searches from the home screen by saying 'Okay Google!' Carry your documents wherever you go, with integrated Google Docs and Google Drive account features. Never miss a message with the pre-loaded Hangouts app which stores all of your SMS messages alongside your other conversations and video calls! Get set for a more intuitive experience!"

Micromax already has three handsets that run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS - the Micromax Canvas Entice, the Canvas Engage and the recently launched Unite 2. Last week, we also saw the Canvas Gold A300 with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat as per the official company's website listing.

The Micromax Canvas Knight was launched in March at Rs. 19,999, and ran Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

The highlight of the Canvas Knight is its octa-core MediaTek (MT6592T) processor clocked at 2GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Canvas Knight offers dual-SIM (both Micro-SIMs) support and comes with a 5-inch (1080x1920 pixels) full-HD IPS display with a pixel density of 443ppi. The Canvas Knight comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage, which is non-expandable. It sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with OmniVision CameraChip sensor and M8 Largan Lens, while there is a secondary 8-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.

Last month one of Micromax's rivals, Xolo, announced its plans to roll out Android 4.4 KitKat OS to its smartphones - Q700S, Q1010i, Q1010, and Q3000 by this month. The Xolo Q600s with Android 4.4.2 KitKat was also made available to buy online for Rs. 8,499.
