The long-rumoured Nokia Lumia 1520 may not be unveiled in late September, as we previously thought. We had been hearing that the alleged Lumia 1520 was slated for release on September 26, but a new rumour claims that the release date has been slipped to October.

According to the prolific tipster, @evleaks the Finnish handset giant has pushed back the launch of the alleged Lumia 1520 phablet featuring a 6-inch full-HD display. @evleaks cites several sources that suggest that the launch of the phablet was pushed back, and it could now launch on October 22. The tweet said, "According to several sources, Bandit launch was pushed back. Could be 10/22." However, there's no word on why the release date has been pushed back.

The alleged Nokia Lumia 1520, formerly dubbed the Lumia Bandit, has been at the forefront of Nokia leaks for weeks now. Earlier, the device made an online appearance in a purported press render.

The image showed Nokia Lumia 1520's homescreen with Live Tiles and the design largely resembled other phones in the Lumia family. The camera lens protruded out at the back, very similar to the Nokia Lumia 925.

Last week, the alleged Nokia Lumia 1520 was spotted in high quality images and was also compared with Sony Xperia smartphone.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 has been rumoured to come with a 6-inch full-HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, a nano-SIM and a microSD card slot.
