Sony Mobile India Tuesday announced the launch of its first Sony-branded smartphone Xperia S in the country. Other devices in Xperia NXT series, Xperia Sola, Xperia P and Xperia U will be available next month.

First showcased at Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year, Sony Xperia S runs on Android 2.3 and features 1.5GHz dual core processor. It also comes with 4.3 inch 720p display and 12.1MP rear camera. Xperia S is now available in the market for Rs. 32,549.

According to the company, it plans to upgrade Xperia S to Ice Cream Sandwich sometime this quarter.
