Sony might not have revealed plans for a new variant of the Xperia Z1, but a bunch of leaked images now point to the possible existence of such a smartphone.

A Chinese site, CTechCN has posted images of an unnamed Sony smartphone sporting a metal frame similar to the one seen on Sony Xperia Z1, apart from featuring a similar design.

The leaked images of the metal frame of the unnamed Sony smartphone show the usual number of ports and buttons seen on other Xperia devices - namely power, volume rocker, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm audio jack. In addition, the leaked smartphone metal frame is seen with three microphone holes at the bottom panel. One of the leaked images also reveals the White rear panel of the unnamed Sony smartphone, which houses the company's branding in the middle, along with an NFC logo.

As of now, no other details about the innards of the unnamed Sony smartphone have been revealed.

Earlier, Sony's rumoured Xperia Z1S, believed to be a compact variant of the Xperia Z1, was spotted in a leaked live image.

Prior to this, a report suggested that Sony might release the compact variant of the Xperia Z1, the yet-to-be-announced Xperia Z1S, on November 12, a phone that is touted to be the international version of the announced Sony Xperia Z1 f.
