Sony along with the announcement of an Android 4.4 KitKat update on Wednesday for its Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual handset, also brought the option to move applications to the microSD card.

Xperia T2 Ultra users are reporting that with the Android 4.4 KitKat update, they can now access the Move to SD Card feature, from Settings > Apps. As Sony had also announced upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat updates for the Sony Xperia E1, Xperia M2, and Xperia M2 Dual, it appears the company will bring the option to these devices as well. It is also possible current Xperia smartphones running Android 4.4 KitKat may receive a similar update for the feature.

Also, with the Android 4.4 KitKat update, users report (via Xperia Blog) that the settings section, along with All, Downloaded, and Running applications, also includes the Apps on SD Card filter.

While we haven't got the hold of a Sony Xperia T2 Ultra handset running Android 4.4 KitKat yet, Xperia Blog has posted a few screenshots post-update, and interestingly, Sony appears to have been inspired by Google's Android L preview, using what appears to be Material Design-style to its Back, Home and App switcher icons.

The Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual are identical in terms of specifications, except that the latter features an extra SIM card slot in addition. Sony had launched the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in January this year, along with the Xperia E1.
