Creating hype and teasing the phone ahead of an official announcement has become a norm lately for companies. Xiaomi seems to be leaving no stone unturned in teasing its upcoming Mi 5 flagship smartphone ahead of its February 24 launch.

Soon after President Lin Bin shared images taken by the Mi 5 on his Weibo account, it was Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra's turn to share an image taken by the unannounced Mi 5. According to Barra, there was no need to change the camera settings for taking shots. Further, Barra has cropped and zoomed into the image and shared the shot to show the clarity of the image.

"I didn't even have to fiddle with manual settings or adjust anything-except turn on HDR-this is a pure SOOC shot. I've cropped and zoomed in on the original, too, just so you can see the incredible details up close," added Barra on his Facebook post.

Xiaomi's Mi 5 is now one of the most anticipated flagship smartphone for the company as a lot rides on the success of the device. The Chinese company shipped over 70 million phones last year, which was below the company's expectations.

The Chinese company recently confirmed that it will hold a limited media preview for the launch of Mi 5 on February 24.

Based on preliminary leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications include a 5.2-inch display with either full-HD or QHD resolution. The handset is said to come in two memory and storage versions - 3GB of RAM with 32GB inbuilt storage, and 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage. On the camera front, the Mi 5 is rumoured to pack a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It is also supposed to be backed by a 3600mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech. The Chinese company is also said to use a pressure-sensitive touchscreen, which will be a technology similar to Apple's 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive technology.
