Microsoft on Thursday announced the launch of the new Surface Pro tablet in the Indian market. Touted as the "most versatile laptop" by Microsoft, the Surface Pro has a claimed battery life of up to 13.5 hours on a single full charge. Accessories including the Surface Pro Type Cover, Signature Type Cover, Surface Pen, and Surface Arc Mouse have also been announced in India. The Surface Pro, launched globally in May last year, will be available starting February 22. It runs Windows 10 Pro out-of-the-box.

Microsoft Surface Pro price in India, availability

Microsoft Surface Pro price in India is Rs. 64,999 for the base variant and goes up to Rs. 1,82,999 for the top-end model that features an Intel Core i7 processor, 512GB SSD, 16GB of RAM, and Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640. The tablet is now available for purchase across platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance, Vijay Sales, and other authorised retailers. For commercial customers, the Surface Pro will be sold across 130 commercial resellers in the country.

Talking about its accessories the Surface Pro Type Cover (Black) has been priced at Rs. 10,999, the Surface Pro Signature Type Cover (Platinum) comes at Rs. 12,999, the Surface Pen (Silver, Charcoal) has a price tag of Rs. 7,999, and the Surface Arc Mouse (Light Gray) can be bought for Rs. 6,399.

Microsoft Surface Pro specifications

The Microsoft Surface Pro sports a 12.3-inch PixelSense touch display with Surface Pen (4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity) support. The tablet has a thickness of 8.5mm and a weight starting at 767 grams. It also has a hinge that lets users adjust the tablet by up to 165 degrees, letting them operate the Surface Pro in Studio Mode.

The Surface Pro runs Windows 10 Pro and has support for Office 365. It sports a 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, and a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor.
