  • The data roll over benefit is only applicable on select RED plans
  • Select RED plans also get a free subscription to Netflix
  • Free ISD minutes to select countries is another benefit

Vodafone, following Airtel's lead, on Tuesday introduced data roll over for postpaid plans. Not all Vodafone postpaid plans are eligible for this - only a newly unveiled set of Vodafone RED postpaid plans that the company says offers 'unprecedented telecom and value added benefits'. The new Vodafone RED plans are divided into RED Traveller, RED International, and RED Signature offerings. To recall, Airtel first unveiled its data roll over plans in July, and they came into effect in August. Also on Tuesday, Airtel brought data roll over to select broadband plans.

Each of the new Vodafone RED plans offers free national roaming, up to 12-month free Netflix access, free Vodafone PLAY access (for movies, live TV), free Magzter access (online magazine subscription), and also have access to RED Shield theft and damage protection. Data roll over is limited to 200GB, just like with Airtel. They will be available from Wednesday, November 8, but not in these circles: Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

So, let's get down to the plan benefits. The new Vodafone RED Traveller and RED International plans have been further divided into R (presumably for Regular), M (presumably for Medium), and L (presumably for Large) plans. The RED International plans have free ISD minutes to USA, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. All the plans are eligible for RED Together, with up to 20 percent savings on rentals.

The RED Traveller M plan, priced at Rs. 699, is identical, with the exception of 35GB of data. The RED Traveller L plan, priced at Rs. 999, adds a free Netflix subscription along with 50GB of monthly data. All Vodafone RED International and RED Signature Plans include a free Netflix subscription.

The RED International L plan, priced at Rs. 1,999, gets 300 free ISD minutes along with 125GB of monthly data.
