Popular Chinese drone maker DJI has unveiled its new drone, the Matrice 600 (aka M600), which can adapt to the camera its carrying. The company had only last month launched its latest Phantom-series drone, the Phantom 4.

The new DJI Matrice 600 has been priced at $4,599 (approximately Rs. 3,06,100) and is meant for professional filmmakers. The company touts that the M600 drone can carry the "best camera equipment available to shoot from the sky." It is said to be designed for professional aerial photography and industrial applications.

The new drone from DJI packs a host of features from the company including the A3 flight controller and Lightbridge 2 transmission system. The device comes with dust proof propulsion systems that the company claims can "help simplify maintenance."

"The modular design makes the M600 easy to set up and ready to use in just minutes. All Zenmuse cameras and gimbals are natively compatible, and a maximum payload of 6 kg allows it to fly the Ronin-MX gimbal and a range of cameras from Micro Four Thirds systems to the RED Epic," notes DJI.

The M600 features an extended flight time with a 5-kilometre range, while also supporting ultra-low latency HD image transmission for accurate image composition and capture. It weighs 9.6 kilograms with six DJI Intelligent Batteries (TB48S) that it says allows it to easily ship to wherever it is needed. For users, DJI's new Lightbridge 2 is said to be designed from the ground up to meet the requirements of professional broadcasting, offering high frame rates and HD live streaming. It packs USB, mini-HDMI and 3G-SDI ports which support video output at up to 1080p/60fps or a broadcast standard output of 720p/59.94fps and 1080i/50fps. The drone is compatible with the DJI GO app, which gives a live HD view, battery status, and more, straight from the app.

The company also unveiled the Ronin-MX, its first 'universal aerial gimbal', with support for a variety of cameras and offering a 15-minute fly-time.
