Beats 1 was launched on Tuesday in 100 countries worldwide, but is available to only iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch owners, apart from Windows and Mac users. While it is due to arrive on Android 'this fall', someone has come out with a way to access Beats 1 Radio on Android without any official app - great for impatient users wanting to try out the services. Apple may soon block the method however.

To access the service on their Android device, users simply need to click on the streaming URLs on their default Android browser (Android 4.1 and above), or via Chrome for Android. They can alternatively visit this site on the same browsers.

The stream URLs can also be accessed via other clients on other platforms, such as XiiaLive, TuneIn Radio, Media Player Home Classic, iTunes 11, Quicktime X, Chrome on iOS, and Safari.

To utilise the method, the user must log in from one of the 100 countries where Beats 1 Radio is accessible, or, use a VPN instead. Apple will probably start blocking these URLs, so users will need find to which one still works for them.

The method was discovered by Benjamin Rumble, a developer, who found an unencrypted HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) stream URL for the Beats 1 Radio service and launched a page on his site with the embedded stream URL which can be accessed by anyone on an Android device. The Next Web reported about the new website first. Since then, several unencrypted Beats 1 Radio stream URLs have been found, and a Reddit thread has spawned to list them all.

Like Apple Music, the service is available via the revamped Music app that was pushed out to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch owners as part of an iOS update on Tuesday. It is available via the iTunes 12.2 app for Windows and Mac users. Apple hopes people tuning into Beats 1 Radio will eventually sign up for Apple Music, a service that lets them listen to any song, anytime they want.
